About Me
Currently working on an MA in Journalism at the HMKW Berlin.
Born in Fresno, CA, USA, I’ve lived and worked in Germany since 2014.
Professionally I’ve worn many hats, ranging from corporate marketing to managing some of Berlin’s best bakeries.
My academic background is in German Literature and Political Economics. The decision to study journalism now is the result of a sincerely held belief in the fundamental importance of quality journalism in democratic societies, and a desire to help others develop a clear understanding of the events of the world.
As the industry continues to adapt to the dynamic, modern digital media environment, I hope to play a part in developing new strategies for producing and distributing quality journalism.
I’m interested in producing work that examines issues at the micro and macro level through the lens of economics.
My mother taught me English. I learned German from Thomas Mann, Hannah Arendt, and the Tagesschau. I am currently learning Croatian so as to better communicate with my mother-in-law.
I like spicy food and cold beer, early mornings, disco, and scuba diving.
